Why XCache doesn't cache files in CLI?

Description

I've tested older versions (1.0.3) and the newest 3.0.3.
It seems that XCache doesn't cache files in CLI.
I know there are some problems with variables (#228), but not with the files.

I'm aware that web based admin screen won't show me files cached via CLI, as they're fetched through apache.
But I've tested Cacher on php-cgi and it doesn't return any files when using it.

cd xcache-admin/cacher
$ php-cgi index.php do=listphp | html2text

It's a known issue?
Or I'm missing something.
Thanks.

  • Resolution set to wontfix
  • Status changed from new to closed

the cache won't share between different process group, it has to be inherit by fork
init cache -> fork. then the child can share and access the cache

this is how mmap share memory works. other system wide shm like shmat etc leads to more maintain problem, like cache is not cleaned after PHP crash. multiple user conflict trying to access same cache

Thanks for the info.
Are there any other values for xcache.shm_scheme or options which experimentally will work?
Are there any plans of implementing/developing caching for CLI using different methods?
