Can't disable the xcache.admin.enable_auth

Reported by: wattaman Owned by: moo
Priority: critical Milestone:
Component: admin Version: 1.3.1
Keywords: xcache.admin.auth Cc:
Application: Wordpress WT3 cache plugin PHP Version: 5.2.16
Other Exts: SAPI: FastCGI
Probability: Always Blocked By:

Well, like the title said :)
In the xcache.ini I put this:

xcache.admin.auth = Off
; xcache.admin.user = "admin"
; xcache.admin.pass = md5($your_password)
; xcache.admin.pass = ""

then restarted the server. doing a phpinfo I see that:

xcache.admin.enable_auth	On	On

I'm using the WT3 cache plugin for Wordpress and the Apache error log says that the plugin (some file) can't use the xCache because doesn't know the admin/pass credentials - it should run if the admin would be disabled. So, that's what I'm trying to do: disable the admin to the Wordpress can use the xCache.

are you sure it's loading the right ini? maybe it's in php.ini not xcache.ini

The above comes from the xcache.ini which is located in the /etc/php.d folder. There's no reference of xcache in the main /etc/php.ini file, or in the domains php.ini files. I don't know if it helps, but this is what phpinfo says about my xcache:

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

you should use "xcache.admin.enable_auth = off" instead of "xcache.admin.auth = Off"
