I have php-cli.ini configuration:
extension=xcache.so

After I run [php -v] i get:

PHP 5.2.9 with Suhosin-Patch 0.9.7 (cli) (built: Mar  9 2009 15:35:59) (DEBUG)

After I comment line extension=xcache.so all is right.

extension=xcache.so is a quick and dirty way. try zend_extension=/path/to/xcache.so and make sure you built xcache with the right php-devel header files
